We’ve all heard the phrase “the honeymoon stage has to end sometime.”, right?

You know, that feeling when you return from your amazing vacation after the wedding of your dreams and all of a sudden reality hits.  You’re back to juggling work, bills, and those pesky household chores.

You find yourself day dreaming about the month before when you were sitting on a white sand beach sipping on a pina colada without a care in the world.

Well, at CP Travel and Cruising we don’t believe that the honeymoon stage ever has to end! Instead of wishing you could turn back time to relive your honeymoon, start planning your anniversary trip!

It is so easy to get home from your honeymoon and slip back into your mundane daily routine. Before you know it, your anniversary is just a month away and you still haven’t started planning your next get away.

To keep the excitement of your anniversary trip going, follow these 3 easy steps.

First, pick your next destination as soon as you get home

Don’t wait until things have calmed down from your honeymoon to start planning your next trip! Instead, ride that excitement all the way to your anniversary trip.

As soon as you board the plane departing your romantic white sand beach, start researching your next destination. Are you going to go skiing in Switzerland? Or maybe you prefer snorkeling in Hawaii. Wherever it may be, make a list of 5 potential places that you know will keep you excited until next year and start narrowing down over the next week or two.

Consistently looking at new and exciting destinations for your anniversary trip is sure to keep you from coming down with a case of the honeymoon blues.

Next, start saving

Not only is being financially able essential to your anniversary trip dreams, but having that dream to work toward helps to fight off those honeymoon blues. Instead of going to work and dreaming of your honeymoon, you will be working towards saving for your next adventure.

Finally, start planning your trip!

What type of food are you dying to try? What new adventures are around the corner for you and your spouse as you celebrate a full year or 20 together? The more you have planned, the more real your anniversary trip becomes, and the less you notice that your honeymoon even ended.

The best way to get over the honeymoon blues is to look forward to a trip that holds endless adventure, relaxation and memories.
